Event Grants are made available on application, to schools, children’s centres, playgroups and groups planning activities which embrace the aims of Children’s Week and involve children and families.

The Children’s Week Awards will be presented in recognition of the outstanding contribution to the needs, interests and welfare of children at a formal reception. A Play Award is also given for contributions to the development of children’s play. Presentations will be made for the Minister for Education Awards for children who have demonstrated outstanding achievement in any endeavour.

Throughout this nearly two weeks of frenetic activity, thousands of children will have the chance to celebrate their own achievements, display their talents and just have good fun. Family activities will reflect on the lives of children in other parts of the world where safety and freedom are not automatic.
