Children’s Week is a national annual festival to be celebrated from Friday October 23rd to Sunday November 1st with the theme:
“Children have the right to use their own language, celebrate their culture and practise their religion”
From the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child- Article 30.

The Governor and Mr Rod Bunten are Patrons and Governor General – David Hurley AC DSC, is the National Patron.

The official launch of Children’s Week 2026 in South Australia will be held on Friday 23rd October.

A diverse range of healthy lifestyle activities will be held throughout the state that focus attention of the wider community on children’s education, care and wellbeing and the recognition of children’s achievements.

Children’s Week has been celebrated in South Australia for the past 40 years and will be supported once again by the Government of South Australia (Department for Education.)
